Wall scratch: Ear wax removal has been simplified over the past decades with the introduction of softer plastic curettes (rather than metal loops). Even with this change, the wiggly infant is prone to scratches in the wall during the process, the wax is only made in the outer half of the canal, so the dr seldom needs to go deep unless q tips have pushed the wax deeper. The scratches heal quickly without problems.
