A member asked:

Can i give my formula fed baby (3m old) vit d3 drops, as a prophylactic like once weekly 200 iu (half dose), he drinks about 25-30 ounce per day?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Formula babies: The recommended dose of vitamin d drops is to have at least 400 iu daily, and this is for all children ages 0-18. Look at your formula. If it contains vitamin d, then use the drops to supplement. If it doesn't, make sure he/she is getting 400 iu from the drops. Good luck!
