Exercise is: Best- stretch when u get up, hot baths, steps good if there is no fall risk-good luck.

Stairs are fine: Knees may hurt when walking the stairs, but that is more a sign of the issue rather than the cause. There are a couple big things you need to do. First, exercise, second, weight loss, especially since you state you have abdominal obesity which can cause increased inflammation and poor joint alignment leading to worse arthritis. Hydrate, exercise, stretch, weight loss. Hope that helps!
