Quantitative HCG: It might be too early at this point for a urine pregnancy test to turn positive. The earliest pregnancy test you can take is a quantitative blood test. It can detect HCG 8-9 days after fertilization of the egg. If it shows a level less than 25, then it is equivocal and might need to be repeated in a couple of days. Visit your doctor if there is concern for a pregnancy.

Metallic taste: Most common cause is infected gums that bleed on stimulation. Best advice, see your Dentist ASAP for periodontal examination and oral hygiene instructions. Can also be due to hormonal changes, GERD, infected sinuses, infected tooth/teeth, systemic disease, etc. Call your Dentist for exam. If not dental cause, see your GP or OBGyn.
