Some people do: If a healthy woman is using combination birth control pills, and each pill has the same dose of 2 ingredients, and she has been using the pills for many months, she can skip placebo pills and just start a new packet of pills. For example, she takes 12 weeks of active pills and then 1 week of placebo pills, thus has 4 periods each year. Doctor can recheck, if there is bleeding in between periods.
