See your OB/GYN: Painful periods are not normal. So it's best to call your ob/gyn physician and discuss this with her/him. They can advise best. Also, they may need to look at the bc pills that you're taking, and adjust the dose. Having hot flashes in your age group is very rare. So s/he will look at your bc pills, and asvise you properly, in order to answer your question. Follow their advice.

Get GYN Eval: to determine cause. NSAID’s, SSRI’s, hormone meds, OTC meds containing diuretics, warm bath, heating pad, exercise & acupuncture are excellent for dysmenorrhea. Avoid caffeine, chocolate, alcohol & salt. Get GYN eval to R/O underlying pathology. Consider omega- 3 fatty acids, magnesium (supplementation or through diet) or Black Cohosh with dr ok. Sipping Chamomile can dissipate pain.
