Rabies is eventually: Fatal if it is not treated. Rabies symptoms may initially express with malaise, headache, fever ; weakness. If a person has been bitten, the site may be itching or have a prickly sensation. As the disease progresses the person may feel anxious and have difficulty sleeping. They may behave unusually, experience hallucinations and develop delirium. If not treated early, rabies is usually fatal.
