Opioid “allergies”: Are common, most often due to symptoms of nausea, vomiting, itching, hypotension, or constipation. These are side effects with no immune mechanism the true allergic reactions on opioids appear to be very rare. If you suspect an immune-mediated skin rash (allergy) you should consult with a prescribing physician for further investigation.
