Low blood pressure: This development dizziness or more specifically light headedness when quickly getting into an erect position is due to a sudden decrease in blood flow and oxygen to the brain. This is commonly called orthostatic hypotension. This is either the result of low blood pressure or a defect in the autonomic nervous system, specifically an overactive vagus nerve.
