Reasonable question: Condom use requires some attention to detail for best performance but can be helpful and achieve 99% effectiveness. Chose a proper size. Cover up before any male secretions escape from the penis. Use while still in date ( this is an expiration date i would pay attention to).Use a new one for any renewed activity. This all increases effectiveness.
