Have them go to a MD: Dear lefty, while your intentions may be good, you obviously should not be trying to remove a hard lump from under your friends rib cage for a great number of reasons (including that it may not have to be removed, as in the case of benign lipomas). However, if you truly want to help your friend out, obviously you will have them follow up with a physician for a thorough examination of this area.
