Probably acid reflux: Acid reflux is very common in pregnancy, especially towards the later stages. But even women who are early in their pregnancy can be bothered by it. The thinking is that the hormonal changes in pregnancy cause the 'valve' that allows food into the stomach to relax. Early in the morning, when you are lying flat and with an empty stomach, the acid comes up into your oesophagus and irritates it.
