A member asked:

Hand pain, i kept complaining till an iv was removed. why should i need to do that?

You shouldn't: Hand pain in a hand containing an IV could indicate infiltration of the iv. It is a relative indication to remove the IV and restart elsewhere if it is needed.

Pain subjective: Pain is subjective and if there are no signs of IV not working or inflamation often it is left in for want of another IV site if the IV is necessary.
