A member asked:

How fast do extra calories turn into triglycerides?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hard to say: The management of calories is handled by self regulation of the intestine and liver. Calories from carbs, fat or protein may circulate through the body in their original form or be changed. Fats are more easily broken down to triglycerides but proteins and carbs may converted to them in the liver over time. If the tissues have no need for proteins or carbs they are converted to triglycerides/fats.
