Alcohol/Caffeine: Chemicals that cause urination are referred to as diuretics. Many commonly encountered substances increase the need to urinate, most notably alcoholic beverages and those containing caffeine. Of course, simply drinking a lot of any liquid should result in an increased need to urinate assuming the person has normal kidney function.
