Shellfish allergy: Shellfish is a common allergy and if given too early in infancy (usu best to wait till after 1-2 years old, later if there is family history of food allergies) may cause an allergic reaction. The symptoms are rash/hives, vomiting, abdominal pain. If you are suspecting an allergy (ie rash) cease the food item. You may give 1/4 tsp Benadryl (diphenhydramine) every 6 hours and check with your pediatrician.

None: It should cause no issue as long as the child can swallow the pieces of shrimp.
