Bartholin's cyst: It sounds like a bartholin's cyst/abcess. The bartholin's glands secrete mucous, and can sometimes become blocked. This will cause them to swell up. They can also become infected if they become blocked. This is probably the reason for the tenderness and the occasional pus. You can see a gynaecologist for evaluation and to discuss what to do about it.
