See below: Hemoglobin e-beta thalassaemia is the genotype responsible for approximately 1/2 of all severe beta-thalassaemia worldwide. It's characterized by marked clinical variability, ranging from a mild ; asymptomatic anaemia to a life-threatening disorder requiring transfusions from infancy. I am unsure if the seizures are are due a extramedullary hematopoietic mass vs. Something separate. See neuro!
