History and: Physical including blood pressure and height and weight, and blood tests including hormone tests such as thyroid and prolactin. Being under a lot of stress or gaining ot losing weight or eating too much soy can stop ovulation which can make periods stop. Good luck!

Can be normal: There can be variations in a woman's menstrual cycle that are considered normal and not to alarm about. If these changes become consistent and constant, then evaluation with a provider can shed some light on a problem. Testing may include hormonal blood tests or ultrasound imaging of the abdomen.
