A member asked:

What condition cause extreme drowsiness/lethargy to the point where you literally can barely move your arms and legs and feels like "a great burden"?

Lethargy: This is a very abnormal condition and you should seek medical attention to get help. Be sure you are living a healthy lifestyle without recreational drugs or alcohol. You may be having an illness or a serious depression that can be treated to help you. Try to see your doctor for a checkup to see what is wrong.

More info: Are these symptoms related to drug use? If not a condition called cataplexy with narcolepsy can cause these symptoms brought on by laughter, crying, terror.Anger, etc. The attacks are transient and improve after minutes. If your symptoms are long lasting, then get checked for anemia, underactive thyroid, adrenal gland insufficiency, etc. Your md will refer you to a neurologist if he/she feels it's needed.
