Hernia?: Any surgery where there's an incision in your abdomen can lead to an increased risk of hernia later in life. If there's a bulge around your incision, and it's new, then i would refer you to a general surgeon to rule out a hernia. Another (rarer) possibility is incisional endometriosis. If you have acute pain, fever, and intestinal symptoms, you may need to go to the emergency room.
