Metoprolol?: I think you mean metoprolol. I use chronotherapy as part of my practice. If you look at bad events like stroke or heart attack, they happen most between 4am and 8am. If you take medicine at 7am its effect occurs at 11 am or so and wanes by about 4 am. So for certain meds without water pill, i tell my patients to take them at night so peak effect is when it is most needed, even long acting.
