Both: Whatever works best for you or use both. I used to wear both before my cycle stopped and had to resort to two tampons and a pad for any "escapes". I chose an ablation to stop the periods altogether.So if you are bleeding that heavily and are done with your uterus for childbearing, I advise being evaluated for an ablation and anemia. The lining of the uterus removed in a easy out patient procedure
