Yes: Cerebral palsy is caused by injury to the brain in infancy or very early childhood that is nonprogressive. It has been misdiagnosed in some individuals with other disorders affecting the brain.

Yes: CP is related to a brain injury to specific nerves controlling movement & posture in the brain. These patients have a variety of other issues including seizures, visual disorders, hearing deficits and more that may have arisen from the same event that caused the injury to the motor centers.
