Acute bronchitis...: You probably had acute bronchitis, an infection of the airways. It can be caused by viral or bacterial infections. The sore muscles and pain are likely musculoskeletal pain from the cough. If due to a viral infection, it will run its course but antibiotics are often needed if due to a bacterial infection. If your symptoms recur, see your doctor.
