Insanity: I borrow that word from the main literature of alcoholics anonymous. Many people who need to be convinced that they have a problem with alcohol come to this after realizing their choices were unwise or even 'crazy' when it came to drinking. Drinking when one is already ill may be one of those definitions. Drinking something to make you more ill and dehydrated represents having a alcohol problem.
