Many choices: Anything from a large build up of bacteria in the mouth to cavities to gum disease or possibly a more internal physiological condition. The first step would be to see your dentist for a thorough exam and cleaning. If that does not make things better, see your physician.

Numerous: Gingivitis, gum infections; gum disease along with abscesses can cause a bitterness ; bad taste in the mouth. Mouth ulcers can cause a bitter taste. Dental fillings can cause a bitter taste as some people can be allergic to fillings or treatment. Acid reflux sickness can also contribute as well as numerous medical issues. Check with dds then if cleared see your md.
