Retin-A may help: Pores commonly enlarge as we age, due to overall loss of collagen in the skin surrounding the pore openings. Any treatment that stimulates increased collagen production (retina/tretinoin, laser treatments, chemical peels, microdermabrasions, etc) can help rebuild collagen and shrink the appearance of pores. Prescription strength products are usually more effective than over cou nter products.

Decrease pore size: There are a myriad of prescription medications that can decrease pore size, retin a, Retin-A micro gel, tazorac, atralin, Avita and differin. Renova (tretinoin) and Avage are their skin rejuvenating counterparts and also work to help as potent pore minimizers. Topical vitamin a treatments work by normalizing the keratinization process.

Not really.: Big pores are like big feet - if you're born with 'em, you're pretty much stuck with 'em. While Retin-A is often mentioned as a treatment, it has little or no effect in my experience. At flat "matt"-type makeup, such as clinique pore minimizer, will help to make them less noticeable.
