Can a parkinson's patient have back surgery? i heard it was hard on such patients, but my mom has had bad back pain for two years.

Consultation: Rather than guess about the exact nature of the parkinson's and the back pain - let me suggest that the doctors she works with consult with each other to decide what might be best. The neurologist and the potential surgeon can then present their advice to her (and you). Good luck.

See an orthopode: First, she needs to be examined, have a back x-ray to determine if she even needs back surgery. See an orthopedic surgeon first and have her evaluated.

Yes with caveats: Recovery is more challenging the stage and severity of the neurological disease is a factor not all back pain is surgically treated surgery is the last resort often she should see a back specialist.
