A member asked:

What is the different between acute and chronich cholecystitis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Type of white cells: Acute cholecystitis has more neutrophils, and chronic cholecystitis has more lymphocytes. The symptoms however are usually the same - right upper quadrant abdominal pain sometimes associated with nausea and vomiting. In the acute phase, the pain however can be worse and associated with higher fever. The treatment however is the same for both, operation to remove the gallbladder. Hope this helps!
