Urine, not blood: Is what is usually measured, because it persists in urine far longer than in blood, and blood is harder to get (and the technology of detecting it is somewhat trickier, i understand). It persists in urine for about 2-3 days at most, and in lighter smokers or occasional smokers may be gone even within 24 hours.
