Lymphatics usually: When a cancer invades a tissue, it can enter into the drainage system of the body called the lymphatic system (lymph glands). These act like pipelines to the various areas of the body and transport the cancer to other organs. Sometimes this happens through the blood stream, but most often through the lymphatics.
