A member asked:

I read that there can be complications with an implanted defibrillator such as infections, is it true and what kind?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

ICD: Infections related to implanted defibrillator usually are related to the implantation procedure. If the device has been in place for a while with no problem, then seeding of the pocket or lead sites from another infection is possible. These infections are uncommon but serious.
