Uses of Abilify (aripiprazole): Aripiprazole was originally approved in 2002 for the treatment of schizophrenia. Currently, the FDA has approved aripiprazole for the treatment of bipolar disorder (mania and mixed episodes and as maintenance treatment), as adjunctive treatment for major depressive disorder (2006) and for autism spectrum disorders (2007). Abilify (aripiprazole): Abilify (aripiprazole) is used to treat Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, as an adunjunctive medication for recalitrant major depression & autism spectrum disorders. Off label uses include: dementia & alcohol abuse/dependence and the following for which there are no trials or minimal efficacy: Generalized anxiety disorder, Social phobia, ADHD, agitation, Eating Disorders, insomnia, borderline personality disorder
