Mitral regurgitation: No, a trace of mitral regurgitation is normal. If such a person is short of breath, there are usually other causes. Significant heart or lung problems, like copd, heart failure, and atrial fibrillation are major causes, but allergies, asthma, smoking, and anxiety are some of the common causes. If the amount of shortness of breath is clearly more than others your age, see a doctor.
