Is it normal for constipation to ease up when second trimester starts?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hopefully: The second trimester is often called the honeymoon period of your pregnancy. Most symptoms improve, including nausea fatigue and even constipation. Not everyone sees those improvements right away though. There are many treatments for constipation in the meantime. Prune juice is great to start with. Have you tried an over-the-counter stool softener? Also MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) works well for some people.
