A member asked:

What is the difference between d-glucose and sorbitol?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Completely different: Glucose is a basic sugar with calories to provide energy. Sorbitol is a non-absorbable sugar alcohol which is used to sweeten foods which are often labeled, sugar free. It causes bloating and diarrhea in some. Sugar free foods are not calorie free and often contain more fat to make them taste better.
