A member asked:

Could blood loss affect your period?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: If the blood loss was an acute or sudden hemorrhage enough to be transfused due to anemia, gunshot wounds, etc. yes, the pituitary will tend to alter the menstrual cycle. If it is a chronic blood loss over time, the body tends to adjust and the menstrual cycles continue on as usual.
