Adjust your diet: Fatty liver is often the result of a diet high in fat. Genetics plays a role. Alcohol consumption can cause it, so can medications, viral hepatitis, autoimmune or inherited liver disease, rapid weight loss and malnutrition. Things you can do - avoid alcohol, low fat diet, control diabetes if you have it, avoid certain medications (see your doctor), live a 'healthy life style'.
