Mouth breathing: Among other things, mouth breathing usually results in dryness of the mouth and especially in the front upper and lower gums where they become red, puffy, inflamed and may even bleed. See your general dentist or a periodontist for a periodontal evaluation and some suggestions of how to cope with this depending upon the condition of your gums. A dry mouth also increases the chances of dental decay.
