Neurontin has been shown in a few studies to reduce craving for alcohol, but this does not happen without getting some specific treatment for your alcohol problem, which is contributing to your anxiety/depression and worsening your reflux. The combo of naltrexone/gabapentin may be effective.

Yes: Neurontin (gabapentin) helps reduce cravings and anxiety. It has quite a few side effects, primarily drowsiness, headache, nausea. But if you are early in your abstinence and recovery you are not going to feel well no matter what you do. So if the side effects are not too bothersome I would continue the medication for its benefits.
