See answer: Some but not all men's pre-cum contain sperm. No way to know which do and don't, so always best to be safe and assume that pre-cum has sperm. Also best to assume that any time semen or pre-cum enter the vagina, the possibility of getting pregnant exists; and whether the risk be small or large, the risk still exists. Always best to practice smart, safe, and protected sex and be accountable.

Agree w Dr. Lewis: Most studies have shown low levels of sperm or no sperm in pre-ejaculate with sperm not being motile (however, don't know how promptly samples were examined). One small study published in 2011 showed that there are some individuals with a high motile sperm count in pre-ejaculate. See: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3564677/
