Have been on the pill 7 years, currently junel. i take it every day at the same time. what might cause occasional breakthrough bleeding? normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Can be normal: A lot of women will have occas btb with their pills. Sometimes going higher on the estrogen dose can help. Most doctors, myself included, tend to go to the lowest dose, but not all women respond to that. A dose of 35 or 50 micrograms may help. To be honest, it is a trial and error process. If your current bleeding isnt too bad, you might just stick with it, otherwise talk to your doc for options.
