See answer: A "rape kit" is used: consists of small boxes, microscope slides + plastic bags for collecting + storing evidence such as clothing fibers, hairs, saliva, semen or body fluid, which may help identify the assailant and provide evidence supporting prosecution in a criminal trial. Done properly, the process of collecting evidence for the kit can take hours. Victim can accept/decline any part of exam.
