Medical records: The health insurance portability and accountability act protects your medical records. Only a provider directly caring for you can see your records. If they access records within a hospital system, they can see whatever records are in the system. In ohio, some pharmacy records are available to providers online. Otherwise, you need to sign permission for your doctor to get outside records.
