Serious defect: Double outlet right ventricle (dorv) and transposition of the great arteries (tga) commonly exist together. This is a life-threatening combination requiring surgery, preferably in the first few weeks of life. Long-term outcomes can be good and successful surgery does not necessarily warrant any long-term medications. Imperfect outcomes can occur for many reasons.
