Treat infection: You need antibiotics and evaluation. Some infections such as a felon require drainage. Infectious tenosynovitis is a medical emergency and requires aggressive antibiotics and surgical drainage. Even paranichial infections around the nail require antibiotics. See your pcp or a hand surgeon.
