Please explain if it is possible to have a lazy eye and not know it?

Yes: Many who have an eye that drifts out of position are unaware that they have this condition. This is usually because the vision in the drifting eye is suppressed and so doubling of vision does not occur. I have examined many patients with this condition in which I am the first to describe that one eye drifts and does not see so well.
