A member asked:

How can tb affect the human body?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tuberculosis or TB: This is a type of bacterium that can 'hide' in the body for YEARS before making an appearance. Most often, it affects the lungs - where you get coughing and sometimes coughing of blood. Other organs can be affected though, such as the tissues around the lungs, lymph nodes, even kidneys or other organs. Luckily there isn't much TB in the USA any more, but if you think you have it see a doc ASAP.
