A member asked:

My 13 months old son was diagnose with a malignant brain tumor, is there a cure?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sometimes: It depends on the type of tumor. Many cases of the most common type of brain malignancy in children, medulloblastoma, can probably be cured with surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy. Most high grade gliomas are not curable, but are treatable to give some useful extended survival. Talk this over with your doctors and seek information about the children's oncology group's protocols.
